Baton Rouge USTA Flex League: Summer 2010
  • USTA Flex League offers players a new way to enjoy organized competition without the commitment to a specific team.
  • Singles and doubles matches for men and women divisions. New this season 4.5 and 5.0 singles. Mixed doubles 6.0 – 9.0 divisions offered.
  • Flex League results will not count towards NTRP ratings.
  • You and your opponent agree on the day and time.
  • Players must be age 18 or over in this calendar year and willing to play the league within the defined area.
  • The season will include 5-8 matches.
  • Register now at www.SouthernFlexTennis.com
  • Registration deadline July 5, 2010.
  • Season dates:   July 11 through September 13.
  • Registration fee:  $35.00/player, USTA members receive a $10.00 discount.
  • Flight winners receive bag tags.  Local champions and finalists receive awards.

Coman Procedure for Tiebreak’s in 2010:  All GBRCTA Leagues—Adult, Senior, Mixed, Combo and City Championships will start using the Coman procedure for all Tiebreak’s in league. 

We will use this procedure for Set Tiebreak’s and also Match Tiebreak’s.

Coman Tiebreak Procedure: The same as the present Tiebreak except that ends are changed after the first point, then after every four points, and at the conclusion
of the Tiebreak. The scoring is the same as a traditional set or match Tiebreak. Beneficial in doubles as players continue to serve from the same side as during the set.

The Recreation and Park Commission for the East Baton Rouge Parish voted to increase tennis court fees effective January 4, 2010.  The new court fee rate schedule is as follows:

 

Hourly Court Fee before 6:00 p.m.                               $4.00

Hourly Court Fee after 6:00 p.m.                                  $6.00

Hourly Court Fee for High School prep league and youth rate (12 and under)          $2.00

After 6:00 p.m. pay normal court fee. 

 

The indoor court fees will remain the same.
